About Me

Colette Campbell

There are no wrong turns, just unexpected paths.

Hi, my name is Colette Campbell and I grew up in the German part of Switzerland in a small town near Zurich to bicultural Swiss/Jamaican parents. I have a deep-rooted sense of equality and fairness and a drive to understand the workings of the world.

What inspired me to become a UX designer was the notion that it was about helping people find solutions and facilitate their daily lives. Trying to understand what is going on in people’s minds and being open-minded and able to hear and listen to different viewpoints are what I believe are essential to the UX design approach. And I enjoy it a lot.

The human experience is so much more than the pursuit of happiness. There are twists and turns, chaos, and living in uncertain times. I try to embrace it all. Accept the things I can’t change and I am willing to put in the effort to bring change where I can. I’m excited and hopeful that we can save ourselves with the help of progress and innovation even if it doesn’t look like that at the moment.

As the famous Michael Jordan once said: “Twenty-six times, I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.
